Take me to the [Philip] River[s].... Heh.

Anyway, it doesn't matter to me who wins. I'd like to see either the Chargers or the Steelers make it to the Super Bowl since the Dolphins got flushed.

Spread it on!

I'll happily settle for seeing the Manning Face (TM) again. :)

I'm not sure which team is scarier to face, the Iggles or the Bolts. I would not be surprised to see them face each other in the playoffs. In fact, of the remaining teams, I wouldn't be surprised to see any of them in the Super Bowl, except the Cardinals.

Very true. The two sixth seed teams (Philly & Baltimore) have two of the more intimidating defenses. The Bolts, on the other hand, have simply played out of their minds the past month. Personally, I prefer to see Sproles in there over LT these and I certainly never doubt their ability to come back late with the monstrous comebacks they have piled up.

Chargers played a great game there, but they have a few things going against them.  Biggest of all being they're the Chargers, so they're inevitably due for a letdown.  Second, they're coached by Norv "never-found-a-way-to-lose-the-big-game-I-wouldn't-give-a-try" Turner - the man is the definition of the Peter Principle as applied to NFL coaching (in terms of active head coaches, anyway - Cam Cameron was probably the ultimate definition of it).  On a more serious note, they have to travel cross-country to play in cold weather on a slow field, against the league's top defense, against a team that already beat them once, with their star running back hobbled and their defense injury depleted, against a Steelers team fresh off a bi-week and a huge stomping of division rival Cleveland.  If they can pull that off, even though I'm a Steeler's fan who will forever remain haunted by Barry Foster's dropping what would have been the go-ahead touchdown in the end zone in the 1994 AFC championship game, I will grudgingly admit that San Diego deserves some serious credit, even if they don't make it any further than that.  But I don't think it's going to happen.

I don't care for Norv Turner, but I think his problem isn't with the playoffs as much as it's reaching the playoffs. He does okay if he can figure out how to go +.500. Which is highly questionable. I thought SD was a lock for a Super Bowl appearance with Martyball the year after the 14-2 season, but maybe there are coaches that only excel in the regular season, and coaches that only do well in playoff appearances.

If Spanos didn't have dementia, would Norv had been hired? I wonder.

I like the Steelers, but they have a concussed quarterback. It's so much better to have early season injuries and squeak into the playoffs than it is to have a late season injury, it seems. Rivers is healthy, and Sproles seems to be a more than adequate fill-in for the oft-injured LT.

I think we're in for another ugly-looking close playoff game in the snow.

I really though Keading was going to miss that tying field goal somehow.
