Previously on Trees and Things: Life on the Internet --- A valued member of the community wrote a story on Howard "Sure Got Some Long Legs" Dean. An equally valued member of the community who seldom posts but whom I assume often observes took the time out to type out a 5 paragraph thesis describing his hero worship of Governor Dean. It was relatively well received, by the one user that saw it. The problem? It was posted in the subQ, thus guaranteed to suffer the fate of an internet lifetime in the TnT oubliette.

Treesandthings.com is rather unique as a website since it is built, hosted and administered by its users. It was created through the collaboration of das intertuben with no owner/president/CEO and none of the organizers ever even meeting face to face. In such a community, there are many ways to both utilize and contribute to what's going on. Some people contribute front page write-ups, some quicklinks or diaries entries, some comments and some, cold hard cash. Also, some people edit. We need more of those folks.

Long ago, we managed to hash out a set of Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws that we intended to submit when TnT became a nonprofit corporation. Before we proceeded, it was agreed that we would find a real lawyer to look over these documents and offer advice. At long last, we have managed to do just that. If there are no objections, we intend to file with the requested changes applied.
